Program

The Africa: Structural Challenges and Home-Grown Solutions event is structured as a three-day program bringing together diplomatic, academic, and cultural components in an integrated format. A detailed, time-specific schedule will be announced closer to the event date.


Day 1 – Diplomatic and Economic Forum

20 May 2026 | Istanbul

The first day is dedicated to the Diplomatic and Economic Forum, bringing together high-level diplomats, public officials, policymakers, and business representatives.

Sessions will address:

  • The current state and future perspectives of Africa–Turkiye relations

  • Strategic areas of cooperation

  • Trade, investment, and market access

  • Public–private partnerships

Policy-oriented discussions will be conducted through roundtable meetings, aiming to generate concrete cooperation frameworks. The outcomes of the day will be compiled under the title “Istanbul Outcomes.”


Day 2 – Graduate Congress on African Studies

21 May 2026 | Academic Workshop

The second day focuses on the Workshop on African Studies, constituting the academic core of the event. The program will provide an interdisciplinary platform for graduate students, early-career researchers, and scholars.

The program includes:

  • Thematic academic panels

  • Paper presentations

  • Structured discussant feedback sessions

  • Mentorship sessions on academic publishing and research development

This day represents the intellectual backbone of the event in terms of academic production and publication potential.


Day 3 – Culture Day

22 May 2026 | Cultural Events

The third day is designed as Culture Day, highlighting Africa’s cultural diversity through a variety of artistic and interactive activities, including:

  • Literature, music, and visual arts events

  • Storytelling sessions and cultural talks

  • Simulation exercises for university students

  • Creative workshops and interactive formats

The program will conclude with cultural performances and a closing ceremony.
